Hardware Refresh

Generate a scored, phased hardware replacement plan from Lansweeper asset data, complete with wave scheduling, financial estimates, and a cost-of-deferral business case.

The Hardware Refresh skill scores every in-scope device against a configurable model that weighs age, warranty status, health indicators, OS supportability, and site risk profile. It groups devices into prioritized replacement waves that respect team capacity, site logistics, and blackout windows. Beyond the replacement schedule, the skill produces a financial summary with cost band estimates per wave and a cost-of-deferral analysis that quantifies the risk and cost of not replacing aging devices. The output is designed to be presented directly to IT leadership or budget holders.

Why Hardware Refresh Matters Here

Hardware refresh planning sits at the intersection of two team mandates that rarely talk to each other:

  • IT perspective

“Which devices do we actually need to replace, and in what order?”
Planning: scoring by age, warranty status, health, and OS supportability gives a defensible priority list.
Logistics: phased waves group devices by site and respect team capacity, so the rollout is actually executable.

  • Security perspective

“What is the real risk of keeping aging hardware running?”
Exposure: old devices run EOL operating systems, miss security patches, and fail without warning.
Compliance: unsupported, unpatched hardware creates audit findings and can affect insurance coverage.

This skill produces a single output both teams can act from.
