Lansweeper scans servers icon

Lansweeper is capable of scanning servers with Windows, Unix and Linux operating systems. All manufacturers including HP, Dell, Acer, Fujitsu, IBM, Lenovo are supported and can be scanned. The information retrieved varies based on the operating system used by the server.

Scanned Server Information

The method used to scan server information depends on the operating system used by the workstation. Windows servers are scanned using WMI (Windows Management Instrumentation) while Unix and Linux servers are scanned using Secure Shell or SSH. Scanned server data includes, but is not limited to:
  • Disks
  • Network interfaces
  • Manufacturer
  • Model
  • Memory
  • OS
  • Processor
  • Serial number
  • Software
  • Uptime
You can view the Unix, Linux and Windows pages for more details regarding the method of scanning and which data is retrieved.

Performance Counters

Performance metrics can be of great use in migration projects or to maximize productivity within your company by ensuring nobody has a technical bottleneck. By enabling performance counter scanning, Lansweeper will rescan the asset at set intervals to retrieve performance metrics from CPU, Memory, Disks and Network statistics.

Manage Your Servers

Once you have successfully scanned your Windows server, you can use the wide range of built-in Windows reports to analyze all the data in your network. Additionally, Lansweeper comes with a built-in report builder which allows you to create your own specific reports.
