POS

A retail POS or ‘point of sale’ system usually includes a cash register and a credit card reader. The cash register generally includes a computer, monitor, cash drawer, receipt printer, customer display and a barcode scanner. The POS terminal’s software typically runs on Windows (Often Windows XP) or Linux. As Lansweeper is able to scan Linux machines, Windows machines and their connected devices such as monitors, displays, and network devices, it is an ideal tool to scan your POS systems. Additionally, if your PIN terminals, printers or scanners support a common network protocol such as SMTP, SIP or SNMP Lansweeper is able to scan them automatically as well.

Scanned POS Information

Like with other network devices, Lansweeper will retrieve all kinds of useful information from your POS systems, including but not limited to:
  • Description
  • Manufacturer
  • Model
  • IP Location
