Multiple Veeam product versions will be going end of life in February 2024. To ensure that your Veeam products are fully supported, it is important to know exactly which versions of the products are installed in your IT environment and when they will be going end of life.
What is Veeam?
Veeam is a software publisher that has multiple products for backup, recovery, and data management. It is best known for its backup functionality providing a critical last resort in cases of data loss or cybersecurity incidents and ransomware. With its toolset, Veeam provides data protection for virtual, physical, and multi-cloud infrastructures.
Veeam Lifecycle
Veeam’s lifecycle has 3 stages. In the initial stage, the product is fully supported and will be updated if issues or vulnerabilities are detected.
The second stage is “End of Fix” in which no further updates, patches, or hotfixes will be released. Exceptions are possible and made on a case-by-case basis. Veeam also mentions: “If Veeam determines that an issue you are facing is fixed in a generally available version, you will be required to update to it.“
Lastly, “End of Support” means that the product is no longer supported at all. To receive support, you will need to have an active maintenance contract and perform an upgrade to a newer version.
Veeam End of Life February 2024
In February 2024, the following Veeam products and versions will be going end of life:
- Veeam Backup & Replication 11
- Veeam ONE 11
- Veeam Agent for Windows 5
- Veeam Agent for Linux 5
- Veeam Agent for Mac 1
In order to remain supported, make sure to update these products to Veeam Backup & Replication 12.0, Veeam ONE 12.0, Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows 6.0, Veeam Agent for Linux 6.0, and Veeam Agent for Mac 2.0 respectively. You can use the report below to find installations that need updating.
Veeam End of Life February 2023
In February 2023, the following Veeam product versions will be going end of life:
- Veeam Backup & Replication 10.0
- Veeam ONE 10.0
- Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows 4.0
- Veeam Agent for Linux 4.0
You are advised to update these products to Veeam Backup & Replication 11.0, Veeam ONE 11.0, Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows 5.0, and Veeam Agent for Linux 5.0 respectively. You can use the report below to find any installations that need updating.
Veeam End of Life January 2022
At the end of January 2022, the following products have a version going end of life:
- Veeam Backup & Replication 9.5
- Veeam ONE 9.5
- Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows 3.0
- Veeam Agent for Linux 3.0
