The company is currently headquartered in Basking Ridge, New Jersey and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Verizon Communications. It is the largest telecommunications provider in the US. Verizon was founded in 2000 as the result of a merger between the American company, Bell Atlantic and GTE Corporation.
