Hi Everyone,

Starting from this month, I'll be publishing a new report every month which checks if assets in your network are on the latest Windows monthly rollup update. If you want more information about what is included in this update, feel free to visit the related blog post.

This report will check if your assets are on the latest released monthly rollup KB update. It's color-coded to give you an easy and quick overview which assets are already on the latest Windows update.

Instructions to add this report to your Lansweeper installation can be found here: https://www.lansweeper.c...How-to-run-a-report.aspx

V2 changelog:
  • Changed the report to use Windows build number instead of version to support Lansweeper versions before 6.0.230.
  • Added a Patch status column.
  • Excluded Windows XP and Windows 7 (without service pack 1) from the report.
Code:
Select Top 1000000 Coalesce(tsysOS.Image, tsysAssetTypes.AssetTypeIcon10) As

I get the following:

"Invalid column name 'Version'. Invalid column name 'Version'. Invalid column name 'Version'. Invalid column name 'Version'. Invalid column name 'Version'. Invalid column name 'Version'. Invalid column name 'Version'. Invalid column name 'Version'"

Is this a version issue? I have not yet updated to the latest Lansweeper version.

I get an error when trying to save the report:

Invalid column name 'Version'. Invalid column name 'Version'. Invalid column name 'Version'. Invalid column name 'Version'. Invalid column name 'Version'. Invalid column name 'Version'. Invalid column name 'Version'. Invalid column name 'Version'.

I'm running the latest version of Lansweeper (7.0.30.66) and the report runs fine on mine.

This works fine for me. However, I have a couple of requests please!

1. Could you add into the report an exclusion for the Windows OS's that are no longer receiving updates?, ie 2003, XP etc. It would be nice if this were included as, unfortunately, some of us still have some of this legacy stuff around and it would be a pain to edit the report every month.

2. Could the colour coding also relate to a column that shows Patched/Not Patched or Up to date/Out of date or something similar? This would make it super easy to filter and find out how many devices left need patching.

Good work on this! This will help us out TONS! Applause

I like your approach but the report has to be modified every months, what i did for years with Lansweeper is create SQL table with a powershell script that fetch all microsoft patch each month (KB, NAME, DATE, OS etc) and compare with the current installs in LS, then i use PowerBI to validate the missing patches.

A similar approach would be really usefull directly in Lansweeper, where LS would fetch MS patchs KB and compare.. its a bit of a maintenance but a life saver.

Have fun!.

For anyone trying to run this report, since scanning Windows 10 version numbers was added in Lansweeper 6.0.230. This report will only work when you have Lansweeper 6.0.230 or higher

Updated the report so it works on older version too now.

Is there a link to the latest 6.0.230 version? Autoupdate shows me I am running the latest version already at v. 6.0.151.34 and the beta link is now at 7.0.100.5

This sounds very interesting and would indeed be much easier. But as you mentioned it would include a lot of modifications on the user's side. The goal here is to try and offer it to as many people as possible and keep the barrier to entry low.

So... this thread shows a report that us common types can't run, because we can't download the required version to play?

I'm in the same boat, where I only see 6.0.151.34 as the latest available version.

I am getting Invalid SELECT statement. Unexpected token "tblErrors" at line 19, pos 10. I am using the latest version of Lansweeper (v. 7.0.30.66).

I am supposed to do new report and delete all the stuff it puts in by default and then paste this in, is that not correct?

Thanks

Great, thanks! Maybe one more thing....

Add a column to show if it's server architecture or not. That way we could easily filter servers without the need for a separate report.

Thanks, this is a really useful report and a nice touch from the team. Would also love to see suggestion 2 above included in the next version.

I like the report. Though I'm not sure I'm seeing accurate results. I manually performed windows updates against the Microsoft cloud on 2 windows 7 enterprise pc's. Both have been fully patched. The report however says they're missing KB4462923. Anyone else seeing this?

How come the latest version for download is '6.0.151.34', released on 21-Jun-2018? A mistake surely?

So I wonder what the download link for version 6.0.230.48 could be ...

If you create a new report, also remove the default query it starts with, then just paste in the report above.

If it doesn't seem to be accurate, you can do a full rescan all the assets in the report. If after a manual rescan there is still no information, it's likely that the WMI has not updated.

So is there a problem with version '6.0.230.49' then? I'm still no clearer as to why this has been the latest v6 update for sometime but now it's been changed to an update from June 2018?

To my knowledge there are no big issues with 6.0.230.49. However, because it was released so close to Lansweeper 7, the update check wasn't changed to it to prevent asking people from having to update twice in such a short amount of time.

OK, thanks Charles. We've been on version 6.0.230.48 since August 2018 so that's why I was confused. However, when I update I usually go straight to the Lansweeper download site. Where as if you do that now you can only download Lansweeper 7. Just out of interest, will v6 be discontinued?

Officially, our support team will support the version the update check has and higher. They will always try and help anyone with a Lansweeper license, but some issues can be version specific and will require an update before further troubleshooting can be done.

Since your in full control over what version you use, it's not up to us to decide what version you can use.
