OT installation requirements

Lansweeper OT is a feature that is currently in preview mode. The OT installer can be downloaded in the Configuration\Installations menu of Lansweeper Cloud.

This knowledge base article lists the requirements for installing Lansweeper OT. Make sure the machine you select for your OT installation meets the below prerequisites.


64-bit, x64 architecture.

Virtual or physical

You can install the Lansweeper OT software on either a virtual or physical computer.

Operating system

Lansweeper OT uses as its underlying technology .NET 6, which is packaged into the OT installer. You can install Lansweeper OT on any of the Windows operating systems listed below, which support .NET 6.

  • Windows 10, version 1607 or higher
  • Windows 11, version 21H2 or higher
  • Windows Server, version 1909 or higher
  • Windows Server 2016, version 1607
  • Windows Server 2019, version 1809
  • Windows Server 2022, version 21H2

PowerShell scripting

During the OT installation process, a certificate is generated to secure communication between OT components. This certificate is generated using a PowerShell script. To ensure successful execution of the script and a successful OT installation overall, make sure your machine is configured to allow for PS script execution. You can run the command below as an admin in PowerShell to ensure a correct script execution policy.

Set-ExecutionPolicy RemoteSigned

Web browser

You can view the OT hub using any of the web browsers listed below.

  • Google Chrome, updated to the latest version
  • Mozilla Firefox, updated to the latest version
  • Opera, updated to the latest version
  • Microsoft Edge, updated to the latest (Chromium-based) version
