To configure Microsoft Edge to run asset and user actions, follow the steps below. Note that the underlying commands of asset and user actions are Windows-based, so you must be using Edge on a Windows computer to run actions. You must also be using version 79 or higher of Edge, as these are the versions that are Chromium-based. Older, non-Chromium based versions of Edge are not supported for Lansweeper use.
Step 1: allow extensions from other stores
Microsoft Edge is a Chromium-based web browser. Lansweeper has a Chromium extension that can be installed in browsers like Edge to allow for the execution of asset and user actions. As Lansweeper's Chromium extension is offered through the Chrome Web Store, you must first configure Edge to allow extensions from this store.
In Edge's address bar, type about:extensions
and hit Enter
. At the bottom of the resulting screen, set the following switch to enabled: Allow extensions from other stores
Step 2: install Lansweeper extension components
Download and run this Lansweeper Chromium extension installer and hit Next
. The executable adds a Lansweeper folder with the Chromium extension components to your computer.
Step 3: restart Edge and install extension
Restart Edge and browse to this Chrome Web Store link. Install the Lansweeper extension from there by hitting the Add to Chrome
button and then Add extension
in the confirmation popup. Afterward, double-check under about:extensions
that the extension is enabled.
You are now ready to start using asset and user actions in Lansweeper.
