Is it possible to configure Lansweeper to do the scan as the currently logged on user? We recently purchased a company that has ONLY one user (no admin account) that is a local admin and since they are all local admins (I know, I know, but I didn't set them up) they have the rights to do the scan, but I don't see how LS can be made to try it as the currently logged on user

Hello,
This is at the moment not foreseen unfortunately. The currently logged on user can be used to run a deployment, but not for scanning.
As an alternative you could use one of our scanning clients like LsPush or LsAgent. For both of these clients scanning credentials are not required as they scan the computers locally.

Those both require the ability to install the software remotely (or have someone on site, which we don't have). Since it can't do the initial scan, it also can't do any deployments.

Can you connect to clients using
Powershell remote
?
Then do that, and
use command
to add second admin and later to
lower local user privileges
.
