The Lansweeper 7 release includes a load of brand-new features and scanning improvements. This extensive update is focused on further improving what we do best: discovering your network. Our priority is to scan more assets and provide more information than ever about them.
We've created a new scanning agent that provides a solution for your hard-to-reach assets. LsAgent can be installed on Windows, Mac & Linux devices and will automatically and securely send asset updates to your Lansweeper installation. Either directly or over the internet using Lansweeper’s relay server in the cloud.
By adding a custom OID scanning section, users themselves can now specify what SNMP-related data they want to scan from which set of assets. This opens a whole new world of possibilities to use Lansweeper in your production environment, retrieving very specific information from all kind of new assets, that simply wasn't possible before.
We’ve also chosen to add a PowerShell-based scanning function to get more data out of those difficult to configure and maintain Exchange Servers, adding that much needed visibility.
Lansweeper is constantly improving the way we pick up virtual assets, to add more value to our customers. Both vCenter and Citrix scanning methods have received updates to scan more information, faster and in a more secure way.
Finally we have also upgraded our Scanning Server's performance, so Lansweeper can now scan your assets faster than ever while using less CPU resources than before.
Regardless of your license type, everyone can upgrade to Lansweeper 7.
Whether you'll have access to the new features does depend on your license type.
