The Remote Control and Uninstall Software (remote uninstall) tools used to require a Lansweeper license. If you are running old versions of these tools, you may get a warning that you are using an unregistered version or that uninstalling requires the premium version of Lansweeper. You may also be limited to 60 seconds of use. The solution to this problem is easy: use the latest versions of Remote Control and Uninstall Software instead, which are free and do not require registration.
To get rid of the registration errors, do the following:
- Download the latest version of Remote Control and the latest version of Uninstall Software. The latest versions of the tools are free, do not require registration and will not prompt for a license. They will not generate warnings that performing remote controls or uninstalling requires the premium version of Lansweeper.
- If you integrated these tools as asset actions into the Lansweeper web console, add their latest versions to the Action Path folder listed in the web console under Configuration\Asset Pages. Your Action Path indicates where the web console will try to locate your action scripts and executables. By default, the Lansweeper installer shares the following folder on your Lansweeper server as lansweeper$ and uses that as the Action Path:Program Files (x86)\Lansweeper\ActionsUninstall Software has become obsolete since the arrival of Lansweeper 5.2, which includes software deployment features. As deployment packages can uninstall software as well, the Uninstall Software tool will no longer be updated or supported.
