DBMS

The database management system (DBMS) is a software package that is engineered to describe, manipulate, collect and process data in a database. DBMS basically manipulates the data itself, the information type, field names, the structure of the database and the nature of the file. It defines the rules for validating and altering this data. All known DBMSs include MySQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Sybase, SAP HANA, and IBM DB2.
