What can't we use a wildcard in the file scanning and have LS report back with all files in that directory? This is a basic feature in the other RMM/Inventory systems we have used.

File Scanning not Files Scanning.

It would be a fair bit of data to store in the database which could degrade the performance.

Normally you're looking for a file to get details of, eg if its there, version details, last accessed / changed.

All of the other Inventory / RMM systems we have used in the past do this with no performance degradation, LanSweeper is the only software who does not. That's unfortunate.

We had a situation come up recently where we were hoping to utilize Lansweeper's file scanning and could not due to the lack of flexibility with it. Ours was more around it not being able to accommodate certain environment variables. Any information I can't gather with Lansweeper I end up scripting with PowerShell.

Thought for Lansweeper: Develop a function where users can set up PowerShell scripts and pipe the output directly to a database table. The amount of customization would become limitless.
