Are these cleaned out when saving?

So I only noticed this recently when my colleague said he left comments in his SQL scripts, but I didn't find any in the editor. Has this been mentioned before? I cannot find any threads about this.
Are SQL comments stripped out before they are saved for reports?
Is there any way to turn this off?
Many thanks,

Unfortunately, comments are not supported in the Report builder, they get automatically removed when you add the code to the report builder.
