When converting your installation to SQL Server. What is recommended?

Can you install SQL Server on the same machine, or is it recommended to be separate. And if so, what should the specs be on the SQL server (Memory, HD Space, vCPUs, etc). What version of SQL Server is recommended.

Thanks!

Mike

Yea we only have about 1000 assets, so it should be good. Thanks for the info.

The specs depend on usage, we have separate SQL server (Win2016 & SQL2016).
Our DB size is 11GB and has 10GB RAM assigned with 2 vCPUs.

We noticed a huge improvement migrating SQL to a dedicated SQL server, but depends on number of assets and scanned IPs you have.

Our estate has around 4500 networked assets (PCs, Servers, switches, printers, etc)
