It's an old post, but a subject that concern probably many other end-users !

Does LanSweeper have heard many other clients about this request to improve better inventory of their assets ? Adding a newer table in the database in your latest version could keep in memory "IP Location" history ?

A sample of what could be interesting inside this history:

[date of scan / updated modification], IP Location, IP

But don't update this history if the IP is modified... and the IP location still the same. Not necessary to know when a DHCP client receive a new IP on the same subnet.

Keep 10, 25, 50 modifications.

This could be very useful since many workers are moving between home and business location (mobile users)

This improvement should be very appreciated !!!

History of IP Locations is not stored in the database, so unfortunately there is no way to report on it.

As an alternative you can enable Network history tracking which will track changes to the network of your assets. You can do this in Scanning\Scanned Item Interval. More info about Scanned Item interval can be found here: https://www.lansweeper.com/kb/115/managing-how-often-specific-data-is-scanned.html

When enabled, you can run a report like this one: https://www.lansweeper.com/Forum/yaf_postst10954_Report-on-IP-Address-History-for-Assets.aspx#post40977
