Is there anyway to setup time based purging by asset type. For example, we want to purge inactive devices, but not inactive Windows machines.

Just to revive this old topic as we've recently received an email request about this. This feature was not yet chosen for implementation, but there is a workaround available, as assets can be excluded from cleanup options, which can be applied in bulk:
  • Go to the main Assets tab
  • Filter for the assets that you don't want to be cleaned up, e.g. by type
  • Click the Select All checkbox
  • Click Edit fields in the left-hand pane
  • Select not affected by cleanup options in the dropdown, click the checkbox and click Change Field(s)

Currently, it is not possible to set up Asset Cleanup Options under Configuration\Server Options based per asset type. This has been asked by our customers before and is already on our customer wish list. Therefore, we will mark this topic as a feature request to add weight to it. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide you with an estimated release date for when this feature might be implemented in a future Lansweeper release. There is a whole development process a feature needs to go through before it gets implemented to ensure it meets customer requirements, performance benchmarks, etc.
