FYI when imaging computers

LSAgent can be installed on the golden image. To make sure your imaged computers create a new record, delete the ini file in the LSAgent x86 program directory, and restart the Lansweeper agent service. This will then generate a new unique record for the new computer.

Background

We run a windows computer, 500 dual boot Macs for lending, and around 700 staff physical and virtual computers. During this last image update we noticed all of our test computers were not showing up in the LSAgent scans. The ini file of course was cloned to the new computer. Now we have implemented group policy and, or powershell scripts to run post clone to run one time after the first start up.

Life is good again.

Ya, no problem.

We build our machine vCenter, clone it, sysprep the clone, and then capture it using WDS (windows deployment services) because it's free and easy. Easy after you build your answer file.
