The company was founded in 1988 by Dr. Shun-I Chu in Taoyuan County, Taiwan when he developed and manufactured an analog modem in his rented apartment.
Since then, ZyXEL has grown and has branches in North America, Asia, and Europe with distribution in more than 150 countries worldwide. Its portfolio includes routers, switches, firewalls, modems, VoIP phones, and mesh networking equipment.
