Tyco International PLC was an Irish security systems company that designed, manufactured, and marketed hardware, software security and surveillance solutions. The company was founded by Arthur J. Rosenberg in 1960 as an investment and holding company. It initially focused on research in the private sector. Over the years, the company expanded their portfolio and began manufacturing products such as CCTV, IP cameras, access control equipment, electronic article surveillance, fire alarm systems, valves and controls and fire-fighting hardware.
However, in 2016, all businesses of Tyco International merged with Johnson Controls to form Johnson Controls PLC. Before this merger, the company was headquartered in Cork, Ireland with operational headquarters located in New Jersey, USA.
