Mandriva Linux

Mandriva Linux was a Unix-like open source Linux distribution bade by Mandriva S.A. that was released on 23rd July 1998 based on Red Hat Linux and K Desktop Environment. The distribution was based on a monolithic Linux kernel and used the urpmi package management tool.

The operating system is a fusion of the French distribution Mandrake Linux and the Brazilian distribution, Conectiva Linux. Each new release for the OS consisted of updates for the Linux system software, windows manager, desktop environments, web browsers, and other others. The operating system was discontinued with the last update released on 28th August 2011.
