Genicom

Based in the Chantilly region in Fairfax County, Virginia, USA, Genicom was founded in 1982 and was one of America’s leading computer printer manufacturers until 2003. The company was spun-off from GE’s printer and relays groups and ended up forming an independent company named GENICOM Corporations.

After that, the company designed, manufactured, and sold different printing hardware products including serial matrix printers, inkjet printers, thermal imaging technologies, laser printers, dot matrix printers, and others. Besides printers, the company also provided supplies and consumables that were required with the printers. Currently, the company no longer exists independently and joined Tally Ltd. in 2003 to form TallyGenicom.
