²Foundry Networks

Originally founded by Bobby R, Johnson Jr, in 1996, Foundry Networks was a networking hardware vendor based in Santa Clara, California, USA. The company began their operations under the name Perennium Networks/StarRidge Networks and designed, manufactured, and sold high-end Ethernet switches, routers, application delivery controllers, as well as traffic, security, and wireless management solutions.

Along with the hardware, Foundry Networks also provided software products including IronView and ServerIron TrafficWorks. Foundry Network’s core customer base consisted of high-end enterprises and service providers. On December 18, 2008, the company was successfully acquired by another storage networking company, Brocade Communications Systems for 2.6 Billion dollars.
