Eizo Corporation was founded in 1968 as Hakui Electronics Corporation in Hakui, Ishikawa, Japan, with a focus on manufacturing televisions. Since then, the company has branched out and extended their engineering and manufacturing capabilities to produce and sell computer displays and other technologies.
Currently, Eizo has a portfolio that includes products like LCD monitors, graphics monitors, touch panels, industrial monitors, medical display systems, air traffic control monitors, home entertainment monitors, and related accessories. Eizo further diversified and developed a subsidiary based in Chiyoda, Tokyo that develops and publishes video game consoles and used to manufacture arcade games as well.
