While currently headquartered in Santa Clara, California, the company was founded by Clifford “Mike” Markkula Jr. in 1988 in Palo Alto, California. They specialize in developing control networks, to connect machines and electronic devices to facilitate monitoring and control.
Some of Echelon’s key products include networking platforms, networked energy services, smart servers, integration tools, control modules, lighting controllers, motion sensors, network interface modules, routers, gateways, chips, WiFi devices, and various software programs. These solutions are distributed across countries such as China, France, Germany, Italy, Hong Kong, Japan, the Netherlands, the UK, and Korea.
