Debian

Debian is one of the earliest operating systems based on the Linux kernel with the very first version being released in September 1993. The operating system was developed by Ian Murdock and was initially called the Debian Linux Release.

Debian is mainly a Unix-like free software that includes programs like Libre Office, Firefox browser, Evolution mail, GIMP photo editor, Evince document viewer, VLC media player, and others suitable for installation in personal computers and servers. The design of the operating system was thought to be one-of-a-kind and was later used as a base for the development of many other Linux distributions.
