Originally starting out as an IT company that sells print servers, Axis Communication was founded by Martin Gren, Mikael Karlsson and Keith Bloodworth in Lund, Sweden in 1984. Since then, the company has applied their knowledge of networking and embedded computing to develop, manufacture and sell network and IP camera for the video surveillance and physical security industries.
Their acumen in networking camera development took the company off and made it into a global leader in the network camera and video encoder market. Currently, the Axis Communication’s cameras are used in various companies worldwide, including installations in famous locations like Sydney Airport and Moscow Metro.
