SQL Server

SQL Server is a relational database management system or RDBMS developed by Microsoft. An RDBMS is a software product that allows you to execute queries on the data contained in a relational database, including adding, updating, and searching for data. SQL Server uses Structured Query Language or SQL to access the database. Our SQL Server scanner will give you a complete overview of all your installations.

Scanned SQL Server Information

When Lansweeper scans a Windows asset, it automatically retrieves all software information found under Add/Remove Programs or Programs & Features on the client machine itself. SQL Server is a software product and as such, it is found under Add/Remove Programs as well, however with limited information. Therefore, Lansweeper retrieves additional SQL Server data from Windows Management Instrumentation or WMI, a management framework built into Windows operating systems. As with all scanned information, you can use the Lansweeper report builder to report on your SQL Server installations. If your SQL server is part of a cluster, additional information about the other nodes in the cluster and cluster log data are also retrieved. We also made an End of Life guide for SQL Server. Here, you can find all the information, audits and dates. SQL-SERVER-CLUSTER-SCANNING Scanned SQL Server data can include:
  • SQL edition
  • Version
  • Instance name
  • Instance ID
  • Service name
  • Language
  • Installed databases
  • Database sizes
  • Cluster status
  • Authentication
  • SQL Server service status
