Hi,

I would like to scan the computer to get inventory of the software installed on the computer when there are changes to the software only. I do not want to scan the computer weekly or daily. How do I perform this task. Please help.

Thanks,
Nikki.

Not all computer information is rescanned all the time. Most scanning methods respect the item wait times listed in the configuration console under Scanning Options\Item Wait Time. If you would like to update certain items less regularly, increase their wait time.

It is not currently possible to first scan software and then proceed with scanning the rest of the machine only if software changes were detected.

Open your Configuration console
On the left hand side you will see "Item Wait Time"
There will be the items and next to it will be the wait time in DAYS
-1 means it will NOT scan
0 means it will scan every day
1-365 means it will scan every X amount of days

0 means that, when the computer is scanned, that particular item is scanned each time. So that may actually be more than once a day depending on your scan settings and the amount of manual scans you perform.
