I suggest lowering the amount of threads a bit (90 should be ok).
SQL connection pooling is set to 100 by default, if you have more connections at a given time it might give database timeouts.
Next to the scanning threads also other threads are connecting to the DB.

Running fast on an old Dell PowerEdge 1750.

BTW, I hope that everyone here who appears as "Free" users are actual Premium users and just haven't bothered updating your status. This is a great piece of software that deserves this modest fee. Especially those that seem to be very large companies. Tell your boss to not be so cheap!

Our Current Implementation:

Scanning Infrastructure
-1 Primary Scanner for Desktop/laptop
-1 Primary Scanner for Servers
-1 Lab Scanner for development/testing
-15 Remote location scanning servers that report back to data center DB

4800+ Active clients
559 Servers
16 Unique locations (currently all USA)

Desktop, server and test servers are all VMware
Branch location scanning servers are all running on appliance

Lansweeper Database is being accessed by Remedy, Service Now and soon SCCM queries.

We use almost every feature and have done some custom coding to enhance some of those features. In addition, we have created over 30 custom scripts (Powershell) that are part of the Basic and Advanced Actions.

At this point, almost all of the canned reports have been heavily modified and we have also created nearly 100 custom reports.

Future plans include a full custom interface redesign and enhancing the website management to provide more robust access control. The current plan for redesign is being based on SharePoint integration.

Our Current Implementation:

92,623 Assets

Scanning Infrastructure
  • 23 Scanners for Regional Offices
  • 4 Scanners for Data Center Locations
  • 18 Local Instances of Lansweeper for security controls (Installed on the same server using a custom registry entry to allow more than one lansweeper service to run on the same server.
  • 1 Lab Scanner for development/testing
  • 1 Web Server for Application Request Routing
  • 2 Web Servers for Load Balancing
  • All Scan Servers report to a Central DB

40,000+ Active clients
11,000+ Servers (Windows, Linux, Unix)
350+ Unique locations (currently all USA)

Regional offices have physical servers, while the Data Centers, SQL Server, and Web Servers are virtual.

We have SQL hooks created for SCCM and Remedy databases to copy data over to the Lansweeper custom fields.

We use almost every feature and have done some custom coding to enhance some of those features. In addition, we have created over 15 custom scripts (Powershell) that are part of the Basic and Advanced Actions.

At this point, almost all of the included reports have been heavily modified, and we have also created nearly 480 custom reports.

Future plans include better role based access control to assets, integrating data and events with Splunk, and importing information from Bit9.

Thank you,

Jeffrey

A whole lotta fun!

The thing I love is my IP Locations. I have multiple segments for each location, so I can list those in the IP Locations and see exactly what assets are on what segments.
