I have a large number of machines that have WMI errors. I ran WMIDIAG but do not know how to interperate the data.

It appears there are a few problems, but I am a little lost in how to adress them. Does anyone have any good resources?

I am enclosing snippets that show problems.

Quote:

23667 10:40:15 (0) ** - ROOT/SERVICEMODEL.

23671 10:40:15 (0) ** i.e. 'WMIC.EXE /NODE:"BSEYMOUR-DT" /AUTHLEVEL:Pktprivacy /NAMESPACE:\\ROOT\SERVICEMODEL Class __SystemSecurity'

Can anyone provide me with guidence on resolving these and other issues? Are there good places to look for insturctions? Are there any plans to include this functionality in the connection tester WMI tests?

Thanks,

David

I followed the directions here (http://www.microforge.net/kb/102) and was unable to resolve the problem. I am still getting the error (Wmierror Access is denied. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070005 (E_ACCESSDENIED)) LOANER30 (10.7.6.66) 2/5/2009 11:15:34 AM) Does anyone have any aditional ideas?

Are you sure that your account has administrative privileges on this computer?
Did you try the steps in our knowledgebase?

I am getthing this too, the only machine NOT getting the error is the server its running on. I all users are local admins, and I have tried the setups. I have been using the wmidiag but it is very confusing.

Check with which account your service is running, this account should have administrative permissions on the clients.

I am guessing you mean the "Lansweeper server" service on the server? It's running on a domain admin account.

When I installed I used a domain admin account as well.

Could you try the connectiontester en test connections on both 10.7.6.66 and LOANER30

Make sure you run the connectiontester with the same account as the service.

Those are not my server info, but I ran it on MYSERVER info and I get this:

Quote:

Ping test OK

Remote registry test OK

Remote WMI access test FAILED
Access is denied. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070005 (E_ACCESSDENIED))

Remote \\10.26.223.190\c$ access test OK

Also I have been talking to you in two thread, seems to be the same issue LOL.

The account you use is correct, the problem is as described in the other thread.
For some reason the default windows permissions have been removed.
