1) Make sure that the windows firewall is configured correctly (please post the output of "netsh firewall show state")
2) Make sure that no third party firewalls are blocking access (post a list of installed software)
3) make sure dns resolution works and that lansweeper is resolving the hosts to the correct IP address.
(post a screenshot of your full error page)

Do I need to open up port 9524 on all the computers? I am running the scans as a domain admin.

You don't need to open port 9524.

Can you telnet from the server to the client on port 135?
Can you post a screenshot for 3?

If you have windows 7 or 2008 you will need to install telnet from add/remove programs windows components.
Is it possible to show the screenshot of the error page please.

took a while to find and I will readily admit that I am a useless manager attempting poorly to do system administration with no training, but I am learning. <-- scary I know.

The problem in my case was that RPC was controlled by GPO and could only originate from one subnet. That has been fixed and my RPC errors are now down to a small percentage.

please close this case.

Thanks,
