does not work as advertised.

FYI for everyone: Dave contacted us via email last week because the logon banner wasn't working. It wasn't clear to us in what way the banner wasn't working, but we gave the tips below and Dave subsequently indicated that he got the banner working.

The logon banner feature was added in Lansweeper 6.0, which has been out of beta for a while now. Those of you that haven't already can update to 6.0 by following these instructions.
  • The Login Banner section of Configuration\Website Settings allows you to configure a message to be displayed to a user after the user is logged into the console. Be aware that you have to place the banner page in the right location (Program Files (x86)\Lansweeper\Website\customdata on your Lansweeper server) and that the banner has to be in the right (aspx) format.
  • If you want to adjust the settings and the message of the actual login screen of the console, you can do this under Custom Login Page Layout in Configuration\Website Settings.
  • If the information above doesn't resolve your issue, could you provide us with the following information to help us troubleshoot:
    - Additional information on the exact issue you're experiencing or some screenshots to illustrate the problem, if possible.
    - Program Files (x86)\Lansweeper\Service\Errorlog.txt, as present on your Lansweeper server.
    - If it exists, the error log present in Program Files (x86)\Lansweeper\Website\App_Data.

The basic instructions that Susan posted above are still valid. For the login popup message, you will need to create an aspx page for the popup and place it in the folder as mentioned. I don't have a step-by-step guide unfortunately.

2019 and still no real information on getting this to work. Beta testing still?

The link listed above takes me to a generic installation page, not a page detailing the format etc of the banner file.

Just an FYI for everyone: Lansweeper 6.0, which includes this feature, has been in beta for a few weeks now. We're not sharing the beta publicly yet, but you can contact support@lansweeper.com to be added to our list of beta testers and receive information on the beta.

This feature will exist in our next major release, introducing our new help desk system.
However we can't give a release date yet.
